Dr. Clare Boorn

Educational Psychologist

I am a Chartered Educational Psychologist with more than sixteen years’ experience of working with families and young people.

I have extensive experience of working with special educational needs, assessing IQs and identifying specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc.).

I work with children and young people who are experiencing difficulty in learning and developing. I also advise parents, school, teachers, or courts on educational, need including emotional health and well-being.

My areas of specialism are in: Autism, Mental Health- Self harm, Depression, Anxiety, Emotional Literacy, and Positive Psychology, Children in care, Attachment, Relationships and Resilience.

I have been a Senior Practitioner Educational Psychologist, working part time within a Psychology Service, for a Local Authority over a 15 year period. My specialist role was in autism including delivering training and undertaking link work. I was also a supervisor to trainee Educational Psychologists.

I undertake instructions as an expert witness. I prepare comprehensive psychological assessments and Medico Legal reports for a wide range of proceedings on autism, special educational needs and traumatic brain injury. I work with case management, insurers and rehabilitation companies providing both medico-legal reports and more condensed assessments.

Helen Dunn

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Helen specialises in the field of Autism and is a guest lecturer at De Montfort University lecturing Paediatric Learning disability and Autism. She has experience of working in a variety of settings including community clinics, Special needs schools, autism provisions, pre-school and school age Autism diagnostic services. Helen particularly enjoys training others and has provided training for a range of professionals and parents.

Helen is a team player who appreciates the need for Multi Professional Team work. Helen has worked in a number of teams that were nominated for special achievement awards, showing Helen’s dedication to team work particularly involving changes around service delivery. Partnership Award 2011 and Shining through Award 2013 both receiving Highly commended and winning Clinical Team of the year (Paediatrics Complex needs speech and language therapy service 2009).
