Integrated Treatment Services have been providing  joined up therapy services throughout the last 15 years. Our therapists are highly skilled in working as part of a multi disciplinary team. They are able to holistically evaluate a client’s needs and work with multi professional colleagues to agree a single set of goals.

We have been consistently approached by families desperately trying to unravel and underpin the reasons for their child’s difficulties. We understand many families travel far and wide to access a diagnostic centre to assess their child’s needs. We are also approached by adults who have yet to receive a formal diagnosis and are desperate to clarify their issues and needs.

Many centres only assess on site and families are expected to attend the clinic for an intensive week. Families report that they struggle to get professional bodies such as Local Authorities to accept the diagnosis and therefore the process has been futile.

Paediatric Multi professional assessment route:

Our assessment involves 4 phases and can be completed within 5 weeks for national clients, and 2 weeks for international clients where school visiting arrangements for Phase 2 will not be required, but will be replaced by a community activity such as a visit to a soft play centre.

The 4 phase assessment:

  1. CLINIC ASSESSMENT: (Week 1) – Includes 0.5 hours case history & assessment discussion with the Paediatric Consultant and ONE Therapist, 1.5 hours formal and informal assessment with ONE therapist and 45 minutes Paediatric Consultant examination.
  2. COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT (home or school/preschool): (Week 2-3) – Includes 1.5 hours home visit or pre/school visit with ONE Therapist
  3. MULTI PROFESSIONAL MEETING: (Week 4) Includes 1.5 hours Multi professional meeting including Paediatric Consultant, One Therapist, client’s Family plus invited professionals already involved with the client
  4. REPORT: (week 4-5): Family will receive a Multi Professional report outlining findings and initial recommendations in the form of targets.

* If more than ONE therapist is required in addition to the Paediatric Consultant, costs will be reflected by the number of therapists involved.

* In most cases ONE Paediatric Consultant and ONE therapist can collate the multi professional assessment information, especially when a child has a team of statutory or Independent therapists involved with their case already.

Unlike other assessment centres we believe in assessing the client both within clinic using well respected informal and formal assessment tools and also within their community to gather a functional evaluation of their skills and to consider the generalisation of skills in environments where they are most comfortable.

We also ensure (with your consent) that all members of the client’s family and existing professional team (*both statutory professionals and Independent professionals) are included in the multi professional information collation.

We believe the above approach ensures the most thorough consideration of a client’s strengths and needs and should a diagnosis be reached, we find this is more readily accepted by those in authority.

What our clients say….

I knew I had made the right choice (regarding MDT Assessment) and that our son was in good hands. My son was very comfortable with the environment as well as the professionals. So was I as a parent…the professionals were and are still approachable.

They have greatly helped my understanding of my son’s unique demands…he has developed tremendously and continues to improve.

As parents we ensure that besides us, the therapist, class teacher and nanny are also on the same page as regards his care and needs. Our son has settled into a confident rhythm.

The assessment has helped our relationship become stronger…he is confident knowing he is loved by those around him.
