During the December 2010 Acorn Care and Education Group became our new working partner as they bought The Shires at Stretton into their group.

Integrated Treatment Services have delivered therapy services into The Shires for the last 6 years, the students and staff have become like family to our therapists within Integrated Treatment Services

The Shires offers;

Specialist residential care and education for young people aged 11 to 19 who have autism and severe learning disabilities.

The Shires Post 19 provision enables The Shires to continue to meet the needs of adults up to the age of 65.

Their experience, training and qualifications enable us to set and maintain the very highest standards for working with and caring for the children and young adults with autism.

Parents and placing authorities respect and value their professionalism, warmth and integrity and the way they strive to create a family-like ethos and a homely atmosphere.

During 2010 we also engaged with a new school within the Acorn group Longdon Hall School based near Lichfield.

Longdon Hall School provides specialist day education for young people aged 7 to 18, including children in care, who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and whose local authority is unable to provide specifically for their statement of educational needs. Before joining the school and as a result of their specific learning needs many of the young people will have been unable to access an educational curriculum effectively.

We are excited to be working with Matt and the team at Longdon, especially being enabled to help develop the school’s therapy intervention to ensure that the students access the very best therapeutic support to help them learn and thrive.

Acorn Care and Education Group continually expand to offer excellent care and education services to young people.  We look forward to supporting the group in ensuring that their delivery of high quality therapeutic based services across their excellent education and care setting is fulfilled.
