Shayma is committed to supporting clients with communication difficulties.  She values the importance of working alongside families, schools and other professionals to ensure an holistic approach is taken.

Shayma graduated from Birmingham City University with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy.  Since joining Intergrated Treatments Services Shayma  has provided both individual therapy sessions and sessions within educational settings.

Shayma enjoys working as part of a multi -disciplinary team and activiely engages teachers, parents, carers and support workers to acheive therapy targets.  She always considers the person as an individual and actively incorporates their interests as well as likes and dislikes into therapy sessions to enhance particiaption and enjoyment.

Shayma works with both adult and paediatric caseloads, including those with additional learning needs.   She  is passionate, that intervention should be client centered.  It is this approach alongside her knowledge of current evidence based practice, changes in the SEND reform and her understanding of the need for working with others which enable her to empower her clients to live fulfiliing lives.

Shayma has a specific interest in working with young people and adults who are on the Autistic Spectrum, particularly high functioning individuals who require adapted methods to learning in order to achieve their full learning potential.  Shayma specialises in using both direct and environmental approaches to facilitate the individual and their teaching staff.

Shayma has a broad knowledge of assessments and interventions for both the adult and paediatric client group.  She is extremely competent in supporting teaching staff to baseline student’s speech,language and learning needs and set functional as well as focused targets to help them achieve.  She has experience of delivering both direct and indirect intervention as well as inset training.
