Integrated Treatment Services are significantly aware of the early developmental needs of pre school children.  We are only too aware of the growing evidence showing the need for therapeutic input for pre-school children.


The Hanen Centre suggest that:

“approximately 5-8% of preschool children (i.e. between 1 in 12 and 1 in 20 children) have language delays that continue throughout their school years and into adulthood. These ongoing difficulties with language are associated with difficulty learning to read and write, poorer academic performance, more limited employment opportunities and difficulties with social relationships.”

They also estimate that:

“15-20% of two year olds are delayed in their expressive language development (i.e. they talk late and do not use as many words or sentences or sentences of the same complexity as their peers), but are otherwise developing as expected. Not all of these children outgrow their language delay and up to 60% of them may continue to experience language delays into later childhood and adulthood.”


Our team is highly skilled in using preventative therapy approaches such as; Hanen, Parent Child Interaction and ICAN’s Early Talk to support pre school and nursery children within their educational settings and at home.

We can help you select a preventative approach for your environment and support you identifying children who are either ‘at risk’ or who have identified speech, language and communication needs.

We can work within your setting to set up communication friendly environments to support better communication development.  We can support you running pre school groups to give your little ones the best start in their education. We are more than happy to set 1;1 therapy targets and programmes, to help train your support staff to facilitate your children’s needs.

All of our therapists have an MDT understanding of Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Art therapies and Psychological services, so they can identify the need for MDT input throughout their work with your pre school and nursery children.

We recognise the need for you to accurately budget for annual therapy services within your setting. So we make sure that you are clear about the annual therapy cost before providing therapy, and we guarantee these costs will not increase or change throughout the year.
