This week we are discussing ASLTIP, the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice. Integrated Treatment Services is proud to be registered with ASLTIP, as we feel that it gives our clients extra reassurance and peace of mind about the speech and language therapy services that we are providing.

ASLTIP is an organisation for Speech and Language Therapists (Speech Therapists) in the UK working in independent (private) practice. Its two aims are to provide information on independent Speech and Language Therapy and to support Speech and Language Therapists in independent practice (a private Speech Therapist).

If wishing to register with ASLTIP, a Speech and Language Therapist must be registered with two professional bodies that have been set up to ensure that they are fit to practice. One of these bodies is the Health Professions Council (HPC), which exists to ensure health professionals are working to high standards in terms of training, professional skills, behaviour and health. The HPC also exists to protect the public and pursue disciplinary proceedings if a health professional does not meet these standards. The Speech and Language Therapist must also be registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). The RCSLT is the professional body for speech and language therapists in the UK, providing leadership and setting professional standards in conjunction with the HPC.
Consequently, via ASLTIP membership, every Integrated Treatment Services Speech and Language Therapist is trained to the highest standards and will be an excellent choice of therapist for you or your family member.
